If you have been to the Green Centre at the bottom of Chester Street car park in Douglas recently, you will have seen some planting has taken place in the raised area outside the office.
A small group of volunteers have sown a mix of vegetables and flowers to give some colour to the area and demonstrate that it isn’t necessary to have a large plot of land or garden to start producing food.
It’s early days for our crop yet but the principle can be easily replicated anywhere – maybe on a patch of land outside your office or even just in window-boxes or plastic planters.
